Rosslyn Multimodal Transportation Plan (2008)
Arlington County staff has been working with a consultant team and a group of stakeholders to develop a Multimodal Transportation Plan for the area around the Rosslyn Metrorail station. The Rosslyn area has been undergoing a wave of redevelopment in recent years as older buildings are being replaced with new developments more compatible with the County’s vision of Rosslyn as a walkable urban downtown. Several major projects have recently been completed or are under construction, while others are in the planning stages.
The Rosslyn Multimodal Transportation Plan is intended to provide a framework for consideration and review of these development projects. It will also serve as an initial step in the updating of the Sector Plan for the Rosslyn area, a project that Arlington County expects to undertake in the near future. The Sector Plan update is expected to include additional transportation analysis that will build upon the initial work being done in the Multimodal Transportation Plan.
