
Mission : to provide the Engineering Bureau with a full array of project management services for all projects with regards to the survey, design and construction of capital projects. These services shall include, but are not limited to: project identification, scheduling, tracking, budgeting, reporting, and serving as the staff liaison to ensure the complete integration and coordination of required project tasks so they may be completed in an appropriated time frame.
The team also facilitates the problem resolving process that may affect construction scheduling and/or associated costs. Solutions are also developed to ensure that projects can be completed within pre-established funding limits.
The Capital Projects Bureau also provides financial management services for the CIP Transportation Programs of the Department of Environmental Services. Those programs consist of: Traffic and Pedestrian Signal, WALK Arlington, Neighborhood Traffic Calming, Bikeways, Paving, Bridge Rehabilitation, Transit and Storm Drainage. Developing and managing an overall Capital Financial Plan for these transportation programs are also included in order to maximizing the use of available funds. The group shall also facilitate which capital projects are funded and which are not. The intention is to help keep these needs consistent with the short and long term financial goals of the County, as well as, the direction and strategic plans that have been already laid out.
