ARLINGTON, Va. – All Arlington County administrative offices, schools, public libraries and nature centers will be closed Monday, Oct. 9, in observance of Columbus Day. County offices, courts and schools will resume their normal schedules on Tuesday, Oct. 10.
Arlington County Courts:
Juvenile, Circuit and General District Courts will be closed all day on Monday, Oct. 9.
Refuse/Recycling Collection:
Refuse and recycling services will operate as normal on Monday, Oct. 9. The Customer Service Call Center will be closed. All special collection requests for Monday, Oct. 9, should be requested by close of business Friday, Oct. 6.
ART Bus:
ART 51 and ART 41 will be operating a Saturday schedule on Monday, Oct. 9. All other routes will not be in service. For more details visit the Commuter Page, or call (703) 228-RIDE.
The ArlingtonSTAR Call Center will be closed Monday, Oct. 9. Please call Friday, Oct. 6, for Monday and Tuesday trip requests.
Parking Meters:
Meters will not be enforced on Monday, Oct. 9. All other parking regulations will be in effect.
Arlington Public Libraries:
All Arlington Public Library locations will be closed on Monday, Oct. 9.
Recreation and Senior Centers:
All Arlington Recreation and Senior Centers will be closed Monday, Oct. 9, except Barcroft Sports and Fitness Center, which will be open from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. The Skate Park at Powhatan Springs Park will be open from 8 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., for free skate sessions; and from 12 noon – 9 p.m., for managed skate sessions.
Nature Centers:
All Nature Centers will be closed Monday, Oct. 9. They will be open Saturday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 8, from 1-5 p.m., as usual.
Public Swimming Pools (adjacent to Arlington's three high schools):
Washington-Lee Swimming Pool will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Wakefield Swimming Pool will be open 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and Yorktown Swimming Pool will be open 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Arlington Virginia Network Television:
Arlington Television will air regular program schedule.
