Background:
Beth Arthur
was first elected as Sheriff in 2000. The Sheriff is an elected state constitutional officer serving a term of 4 years with right to succession. The Arlington County Sheriff's Office is a Nationally Accredited Public Safety Agency located in Northern Virginia bordering the Nation's Capitol and serves a population of almost 200,000.
Paul Ferguson was elected to his first eight year term as clerk of the court on November 6, 2007.  The Clerk of the Circuit Court is an elected constitutional office in each county and large city in Virginia. Commonly referred to as Clerk of Court or County Clerk, this particular office performs more varied functions than any other in the Commonwealth.
Ingrid Morroy was elected Arlington Commissioner of Revenue in November 2003.  The Commissioner of Revenue is the tax assessing officer for the County for all property with the exception of real estate.
Francis X. O'Leary was elected to his first four-year term as Treasurer in 1984.
Richard E. Trodden was first elected as the Commonwealth’s Attorney in 1993.  The Commonwealth's Attorney is a constitutional officer elected to a four-year term. He appoints deputies and assistants under his supervision to prosecute felony, misdemeanor, and traffic cases.

Arlington, Va., is a world-class residential, business and tourist location that was originally part of the "10 miles square" parcel of land surveyed in 1791 to be the Nation's Capital. It is the geographically smallest self-governing county in the United States, occupying slightly less than 26 square miles. Arlington maintains a rich variety of stable neighborhoods, quality schools and enlightened land use, and received the Environmental Protection Agency's highest award for "Smart Growth" in 2002. Home to some of the most influential organizations in the world - including the Pentagon - Arlington stands out as one of America's preeminent places to live, visit and do business.
