Local Human Rights Committee

The Arlington Local Human Rights Committee (LHRC) is appointed by the State of Virginia to monitor State Human Rights Regulations. These regulations apply to providers of services that are operated, licensed, or funded by the Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services.

The public is welcome to attend the monthly meetings, which are usually held in the Conference Room at the George Mason Center located at 1801 N. George Mason Drive. These are typically held on the last Monday of the month from 7 to 9 p.m. However, there are exceptions; therefore it is best to check the website each month for meeting dates. All members of the Committee are volunteers and anyone wishing to apply for membership can contact the State Human Rights Advocate at 703-323-4015.
