Chapter 36 “Public Dance Halls” is the section of the Arlington County Code that regulates any place open to the general public where dancing is permitted. This ordinance provides that dance hall permits may be issued by the County Manager when application is made, a fee is paid and other criteria contained in Chapter 36 are met. The Zoning Administrator is the County Manager’s designee to issue these permits. A special exception use permit is required. Some commercial zoning districts allow restaurants with live entertainment and dancing by special exception use permit. Application for dance hall permits should be made at the Zoning Office. | |
