Outreach Summary:
Public Forums were held in order to provide an opportunity for all interested to provide input to the update process.
An April 12, 2011 public forum was held, where participants broke up into small groups to discuss specific questions.
A September 13, 2011 public forum was hosted by the Zoning Committee of the Planning Commission. Participants broke up into small groups to discuss specific topic areas.

An October 19 public forum was held for review of the first public draft of the proposed regulations.

Draft Regulations
Starting in February, 2011, staff began researching and conducting outreach for a comprehensive revision of the sign regulations in Section 34 of the Arlington County Zoning Ordinance. Outreach was conducted through public forums and focus groups with specific industry interests. Staff has also been working with a consultant, Duncan Associates, in order to incorporate best practices in sign regulation.
