Historic Sites in Arlington County

Historic Sites in Arlington County

Arlington's historic resources connect us to our past and provide us with a sense of history and place. Both the County's Historic Preservation Program and the HALRB work to ensure that these resources are recognized and protected. Currently, Arlington features 34 locally-designated historic districts and a total of 72 sites that are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Hundreds of additional properties – linked to the people, places, and events that helped shape the development and character of Arlington – have been identified and surveyed as part of the Countywide Historic Resources Survey.
