Election Officers Training
Training classes for the November 8, 2011 General Elections begin Oct. 19. Please do not make a training class reservation unless you have received a precinct assignment notification (email from the Pollworkers address) for this election. Assignments will be sent out in late September.
Please select the appropriate class category for your position:
- NEW for new workers who have never worked at the polls.
- REGULAR for returning workers who are not chiefs or assistant chiefs.
- CHIEFS for chiefs and assistant chiefs.
CHIEFS classes last about 2.5 hours and are limited to about 30 people. REGULAR classes last about two hours and can accommodate about 60 attendees.
The following speciality classes are open only to Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs, Technical Assistants, and individuals designated by their Chiefs to be responsible for these special tasks in their precincts. Attendance at a specialty class alone does not substitute for election training credit.
- SOR workshop provides detail on how to complete the Statement of Results.
- Technical Assistant training provides detailed troubleshooting skills for technical assistants.
Classes for this election are held at the:
- Central Library Auditorium, 1015 N. Quincy St. Parking in the library garage or parking lot is limited to two hours. For daytime classes, be sure to arrive early to get a pass from the check-in table. Parking is free after 5 p.m. so you don't need to worry if you attend an evening class.
- Fairlington Community Center, Multipurpose Room (Room 118), 3308 S. Stafford St., 22206. There is limited parking in a free lot and street parking.
- SOR training will be held in the 1st floor conference room at 2100 Clarendon Blvd (the main county building). Parking is free in the garage after 5 p.m. Before 5 p.m. please park at a pay meter. No pass will be provided.
