Judicial Services

 


The Field Operations Division is responsible for Courthouse/Courtroom security, civil/criminal process services and warrants, and transportation. The Court Security section is responsible for maintaining order within the County's Circuit Courtrooms, General District Courtrooms, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courtrooms. The section also provides support services to judges as situations dictate, manages jurors both in the courtroom and when sequestered, brings defendants and inmates before the court, and performs other related tasks/duties as required by the courts.

The Process section serves all summonses, court orders, and other civil processes issued by the courts. It also supervises evictions with the County, and executes levies, sales, and seizures of property. In conjunction with the Treasurer's Office, it assists in the collection of delinquent taxes. In addition, it is also responsible for serving criminal bench warrants and capiases issued by the courts.

The Transportation section is responsible for transporting individuals to State facilities, to and from courts in other jurisdictions, and for medical and other appointments outside of the Arlington County Detention Facility.
