Assessments, Taxes and Tax Rates
Real estate assessments are appraisals -- the County's opinions of value for each parcel of real property in Arlington.
Single-family Residential Assessments
County appraisers review sales within each neighborhood and, by comparing the sold properties to the unsold properties, develop estimates of typical value for each property in the area.
Assessment Appeals
If you wish to challenge your assessment the first step is to call the Department of Real Estate Assessments and ask to speak to the appraiser assigned to your neighborhood.
Payment of Taxes
The real estate tax is collected by the Treasurer of Arlington County.
