It Takes a Village / Adopt a Park
| Be an environmental hero and help us develop Arlington County into a great place to live, work and play! Any group, business, or individual 18 years or older can adopt a park, playground, trail, sports field and many other areas in Arlington County's menu of parks and recreation facilities. You can't imagine how much your help is overwhelmingly appreciated. Minimally we expect adoptive groups/individuals to support the area quarterly (spring, summer, fall and winter) but it really depends on the group's goals and progress. The adopting group works in coordination with park staff by checking on the park and reporting needed repairs and maintenance. While picking up trash is a common way to support a park, depending on people's interests and skill set they can even do other projects such as landscaping, removing invasive plants and trail maintenance in coordination with park staff. |
