JUVENILE AND DOMESTIC RELATIONS DISTRICT COURT
MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL PROGRAMS
PROGRAM MISSION: To provide a safe
environment for children in need of services (CHINS) referred from Arlington
County's Department of Human Services and Juvenile and Domestic Relations
District Court.

Aurora House
($276,818): Long term residential placement
for teenage girls in the City of Falls Church, from eight to 12 months in
duration.

Shelter Care
Program of Northern Virginia ($130,820):
Temporary placement for children in need of supervision located at the
Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention facility, for up to 30 days.

SIGNIFICANT BUDGET HIGHLIGHTS:

Non-Personnel costs reflect the decrease in Arlington's
share of the operating costs for Northern Virginia Shelter Care ($14,508).
-
The increase from FY 2002 to FY 2003 reflects the
increased County support as a result of state reductions to Aurora House
($88,443) and Sheltercare ($15,439).
