The Plaza Library & Arlington Shop is a combination of library and store. Customers can check out and return library materials, and buy items emblazoned with the Arlington County logo or seal.

  • The collection consists of a variety of print and nonprint materials: books, magazines, newspapers, pamphlets, CD-ROMs, video tapes, and government documents. The subjects of the books and documents include employment, statistics, finance, housing, the environment, human resources, intergovernmental relations, local government, organization and management, planning and development, recreation, and transportation. (Government Reference Library materials do not circulate to the public.

Directions From Washington, D.C.

From Memorial Bridge or 14th Street Bridge
Take George Washington Memorial Parkway north, following the signs to U.S. 50 West (Arlington Boulevard). Exit right on North Courthouse Road, go two blocks to the Arlington County Courthouse at the intersection of 15th Street North. Courthouse Plaza is directly west (or left of) the courthouse.

From Roosevelt Bridge
Take U.S. 50 West (Arlington Boulevard). Exit right on North Courthouse Road, go two blocks to the Arlington County Courthouse at the intersection of 15th Street North. Courthouse Plaza is directly west (or left of) the courthouse.

From Key Bridge
Drive five blocks on Fort Myer Drive to Wilson Boulevard. Turn right on Wilson Boulevard and proceed approximately one mile to Wayne Street Turn left on Wayne, go one short block to Clarendon Boulevard (one-way east). Turn left on Clarendon Boulevard. Courthouse Plaza is immediately on your left.

Directions From Virginia

From Ronald Reagan National Airport
Take George Washington Memorial Parkway toward Washington, bypassing bridge exits, exiting to your left at U.S. 50 West (Arlington Boulevard). Exit right on North Courthouse Road, go two blocks to the Arlington County Courthouse at the intersection of 15th Street North. Courthouse Plaza is directly west (or left of) the Courthouse.

From Dulles Airport
Head east toward Washington, D.C. on Dulles Access Road for about 10 miles until it merges with I-66 E. (Inside the Beltway, I-66 is named Custis Memorial Parkway.) Take the fourth Arlington exit, know as Spout Run Parkway exit); turn right onto U.S. 29 (Lee Highway) and go to the fourth traffic signal; turn right onto North Veitch Street and proceed to the next traffic light at one-way-west Wilson Boulevard (public parking is available on your right just before the light). Courthouse Plaza is directly south across the intersection of Wilson Boulevard and Clarendon Boulevard (one-way east).

From Manassas/Fairfax/Falls Church, Front Royal, VA & other Points Due West
Follow I-66 E, staying in the right lane to exit #73 known as Spout Run Parkway, turn right onto U.S. 29 (Lee Highway) and go to the fourth traffic signal; turn right onto North Veitch Street and proceed to the next traffic light at Wilson Boulevard (one-way west). Courthouse Plaza is directly south across the intersection of Wilson and Clarendon boulevards.

From Richmond, VA
Drive north on I-95 N, watching for signs for I-395 N (Shirley Highway) inside the I-495 Capital Beltway. Stay in the right lane, exiting to the right at the Washington Boulevard (VA 237) through three traffic lights, turning right at the fourth light on Clarendon Boulevard (one-way east).

Directions From Maryland

From Annapolis, MD
Follow U.S. 50 W known as John Hanson Highway outside the Beltway approximately 23 miles where it will become New York Avenue just inside the Capital Beltway. Stay on U.S. 50 W (New York Avenue NE) into the District of Columbia (Northeast Quadrant) until you see signs for I-395 South just beyond North Capitol Street. Turn left onto entrance ramp for I-395 South and follow signs for Virginia. Exit to the right onto George Washington Memorial Parkway N., bypassing bridge exits, exiting to your left at U.S. 50 West. Exit right on North Courthouse Road, go two blocks to the Arlington County Courthouse at the intersection of 15th Street.

From Baltimore, New York and Philadelphia
Take I-95 out of Baltimore, then follow the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (MD 295) to U.S. 50 E (New York Avenue) in the northeast quadrant of the District of Columbia until you see signs for I-395 S just beyond North Capitol Street Turn left onto entrance ramp for I-395 S and follow signs for Virginia. Exit to the right onto George Washington Memorial Parkway N., bypassing bridge exits, exiting to your left at U.S. 50 West. Exit right on North Courthouse Road, go two blocks to the Arlington County Courthouse at the intersection with 15th Street.

From Frederick, MD
Go south on I-270 to the Northern Virginia (right) exit onto I-495. Cross Potomac River at American Legion Bridge; at first exit in Virginia, get onto George Washington Memorial Parkway, going south (river on your left). Exit to the right at Arlington National Cemetery; turn right on Memorial Avenue; enter traffic circle and go left. (Do not cross bridge into D.C.), and follow U.S. 50 W signs. Exit right on North Courthouse Road, go two blocks. Parking is available across from the Arlington County Courthouse at the intersection with 15th Street.

Metrorail and Metrobus

Courthouse station stop on the Orange line. Take elevator to street level. One Courthouse Plaza (2100 Clarendon Boulevard) is directly behind the elevator. Bus route 38B stops at Courthouse metro elevator at 2100 Clarendon Boulevard.
