Before DC Sniper John Allen Muhammad fired a single shot on his October 2002 rampage through the DC Metro area, he had spent years terrorizing his wife and family.
***** ***** *****
After nearly five years of silence, Mildred Muhammad, the convicted sniper’s former wife, is coming forward to share her story with the world as part of her promise to help other survivors of domestic violence reclaim their lives. Mrs. Muhammad speaks with grace and courage, inspiring communities to take the steps needed to end violence in the home. Had state and national systems worked for Mrs. Muhammad, the saga that left 10 people dead and three critically injured might have had a very different ending.
Admission is free and open to the public at this fully accessible venue. For more information or to learn how Arlington’s Project PEACE is making the community a safer place for all, call 703-228-1678 or visit www.arlingtonva.us/projectpeace.
