Residential parking permits and passes may only be obtained by residents or owners of properties that are located in residential permit zones. To determine if your household is eligible for permit parking:
• In person at the Treasurer's Office at 2100 Clarendon Blvd., Suite 215
• By calling 703-228-3344
• By emailing the County at to have one mailed or Emailed to you
You may complete the application and:
• Mail with payment (check, money order or debit/credit card) to P.O. Box 1754, Merrifield, VA 22116;
• Bring it in and pay by cash, check, money order or debit card at 2100 Clarendon Blvd., Suite 215; or
• If there are no fees involved, applications may be faxed at 703-228-3719
Application process may take up to 4 weeks. Residents who applied for permits and passes can obtain a temporary permit. Email the Parking Office or call 703-228-3344 to request a temporary permit.
Maximum Permits Per Household
Each household in the permit parking program is generally eligible for up to three Vehicle Specific Permits. A household is defined as a residential unit as listed in the County's Real Estate Assessment office. Residents within the zone may petition the County to enable their zone to have more or fewer Vehicle-Specific Permits per household.

Affidavits
Listed below are the required affidavits to be used for permit parking:
Affidavit A (42 KB PDF) - for stolen permits and passes. This is also to be used by new tenants who did not receive parking materials from previous residents occupying the zoned address.
Affidavit B (51 KB PDF) - for sold/donated or damaged vehicle/permit.
Resident must always complete an affidavit and provide documentation such as police report, lease, proof of home purchase, auto-body report, insurance company documentation, and/or printout of updated account from the Arlington County Treasurer's Office or Commissioner of Revenue.
A resident selling a third vehicle and purchasing another vehicle may either transfer the original permit to the new car (after informing DES) or may purchase a replacement permit for a fee of $20.
