Dumpster, Trailer, or Truck Permit Guide

 

 

Purpose

A dumpster, trailer, or truck permit is issued when a contractor, or private citizen requires the use of a dumpster, trailer, or truck parked on the street overnight.

ATTENTION

 The Department of Environmental Services has revised the Applications for the Transportation Right-of-Way Permits.

You may pickup forms at the Department of Environmental Services office in 2100 Clarendon Boulevard, Suite 813 or forms can be downloaded from the Arlington County website. All applications shall be submitted to this office. Should you have any questions, call 703-228-3629, Option #0. We appreciate your cooperation.

NOTE:  FEE MUST BE DETERMINED BY THE COUNTY.

Information Required:

  • Name and address
  • Daytime telephone number of the requestor
  • Date and length of time the dumpster is needed
  • Exact location for placement
  • Dimensions of dumpster, trailer, or truck
  • Is it possible to place the dumpster, trailer, or truck in a driveway or on a site lot
  • Are parking meters are involved?

Requirements:

  • Use reflective tape or reflective cones for night safety on the ends or around the dumpster, trailer, or truck. Park the dumpster, trailer, or truck against the curb
  • No permit can be issued where it would conflict with any event or business in the area
  • Do not obstruct driveways, stop signs, or fire hydrants or park closer than 20 feet from corners
