Data Collection and Analysis Program
identifies and responds to changes in traffic patterns in order to reduce accidents and alleviate traffic problems. This program collects and analyzes vehicular and pedestrian traffic accident data for the purpose of identifying changes in traffic flow and making modifications accordingly.

 

  • This program investigates citizen requests for traffic signs, and residential permit parking; issues public right-of-way permits; and reviews developer site plans. Emphasis is placed on improved pedestrian access of county streets and walkways.
  • Performs vehicle counts for the annual counting program and for special projects are taken by staff in this program.

The technician programs the data recorder with a laptop computer to collect the desired information; later, the data will be downloaded to the computer when the count is completed.

The installation is complete. The twin tubes will collect data on speed, direction of flows, volume, vehicle classification, and the time of day associated with these variables.
