Environmental Services

The Mission of DES is to bring strategic focus to critical policy areas of transportation, the environment, and capital investment as well as providing continuing operations and maintenance in these areas.

The County has begun a process to update the Stormwater Master Plan. There will be a Watershed Retrofit Workshop on March 18th.  Find out more about the Stormwater Master Plan!

Some March Water/Sewer Bills Will Be Estimated.  Due to difficulty accessing utility meters during and after the historic snowstorms, Arlington County must estimate approximately 9,000 water/sewer bills scheduled to be delivered to residential customers in March.  Find out more.

Changes to Your Water  From February 1 - May 17, the disinfectant for Arlington drinking water will temporarily change. This is an annual measure that ensures the health of our water distribution system. See answers to Frequently Asked Questions or call 703-228-6555.
