The Planning Research and Analysis Team (PRAT) is part of the Arlington County Planning Division and is responsible primarily for maintaining, analyzing, and disseminating information related to planning and development in Arlington County. PRAT's mission is to provide accurate and timely data and research to a broad array of decision-makers, including County staff, citizens, businesses, non-profits, students, and others. | NEW -- August 14, 2009 The Planning Division’s Research Section released updated population and employment figures for July 1, 2009. It is estimated that as of July 1st the population reached 210,000 persons and that 207,400 jobs were situated in the County. This represents growth of about 5% and 6% respectively since 2006. - 2007 US Census Estimates for Arlington County (PDF Format): Theses tables summarize demographic change in age, gender, race, and ethnicity from the US Census Bureau's Population Estimates Program latest data release.
- Development Reports and Statistics PRAT staff maintain a development database that tracks residential and commercial development in Arlington County from 1960 through the present and produce a variety of development reports, including quarterly and annual development summaries.
- Demographics PRAT staff analyze and disseminate demographic and other data about Arlington's population, households, and employment.
- Periodically, PRAT issues Planning Information Reports (PIRs) on topics of interest to County staff and the public, including Arlington Land Area by Zoning District, Cost of Living, and Country of Origin of Foreign-Born Persons.
