Development in the Metro Corridors:
This report presents all development of 10,000 square feet or more that occurred between 1960 and December 2000 inthe Metro Station Corridors of Arlington County, Virginia. Each station area is depicted on three maps: a Zoning Map, an approved General Land Use Plan (GLUP) Map and a locator map depicting the location and decade of completion for the development prjects included in the report. Numbers on the locator map for each station correspond with the following data tables that include a number of statistics for each development project (2002).

Metro Station Area (MSA) Profiles:
The areas around seven of Arlington’s Metro Rail Stations include Rosslyn, Court House, Clarendon, Virginia Square, Ballston, Pentagon City and Crystal City. Each MSA generally includes the land within one quarter mile of the station entrance and its boundaries are defined by a combination of major transportation routes, neighborhood boundaries and Census geography. MSAs have been the focus of County planning efforts for several decades. Dense development is clustered around the station entrance in a bulls eye pattern with the tallest buildings adjacent to the station itself. (2009) Click here for more details
The Planning Process in Arlington County :
A summary of Arlington County’s planning process. It includes a discussion of the underlying philosophy and goals of the General Land Use Plan, a discussion of the Land Use Plan amendment process, a description of the Site Plan Review Process, a description of the role of site plan conditions, and a description of the role and authority of the Planning Commission.
